Mediterranean fan worm (Sabella spallanzani)

Above water, the Kornati Isles attest to the forces behind sea and stone, but their blue depths ema- nate harmonious perfection. The scant cliffs drop into a sea, resplendent in its beauty, for which these isles are famous. This is also true of the Island of Borovnik located in the north-western part of the Kornati National Park. The distinctive features of this site are the underwater wall that drops to 45 m, and three smaller speleological sites located on the vertical drop, at 40, 17 and 7m.

Diving tips

The diving site is located southeast of Borovnik. After anchoring in the shallows at the edge of the drop, descent is along the wall to 40 m (cave). The return ascent is vertical and past the other two caves at 17 m and 7 m.

Marine life

Like all cliffs on the Kornati Isles, this site abounds in a diversity of colours, various algae and a multitude of flora, dominated by gorgonians and corals.
